Last Saturday I ventured out with Newton’s fledgling new street Pride team to litter pick the village. It was a fun and rewarding day and much rubbish was collected from the village roads. I was struck by the sheer quantity of Quavers packets. Some litterbug who drives along the main road often really likes that crunchy snack. Shame they can’t take the packets home with them instead of hurling them out of the window.
