Canvassing
Come election time canvassers are vital. Everybody moans when there’s a knock at their door and a political activist asks them about their voting intentions and the like but they are also quick to complain if nobody ever comes to their door. Canvassers can’t win – but they should be confident that they are a doing a job which is vital both for local democracy and their community.
What may surprise you is that canvassing is actually enjoyable. People are generally polite (with a few wild exceptions!) and you will find that many are quite receptive if approached politely and reasonably.
We are always looking for additional people to join our canvassing team when election time comes around. You don’t need to have any experience or have ever done it before.
